On the sunny side of a hill in Collio the agricultural holding Polje was born, whose name derives from the characteristic local karst sinkholes. This land, renowned for the production of Friulano, Ribolla and Sauvignon among others, gives life to our elegant and distinctive wines.
The acquisition of the Polje esatte in the village of Cormons took place gradually and today the vineyards extend around the winery for about 15 hectares between that wonderful lung that is the Plessiva forest and the border with Slovenia, and for another 9 hectares in Scriò in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio. Soft and sinuous sinkholes, called "polje", formed by erosion of the Julian Alps, rise for a few hundred meters above sea level, with the ponca and the exposure to noon to unmistakably characterize each vine.
The whole berries macerate in terracotta amphora until late winter and then the wine ages in barrique until the following spring. The expression of the territory through the recovery of an ancient tecnique.
